Jenni began her journey in curly hair care in South Africa, where she developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and challenges of textured hair. It was there that she first learned the fundamentals of cutting and styling curls, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of curl types.
After relocating to Perth, Jenni quickly noticed a significant gap in the local hairdressing industry — very few salons specialised in curly hair. Many clients were left without the support or expertise they needed to care for their natural texture. Motivated by this unmet need, she founded Aoki Hair in 2004 and committed herself to further education with the world’s leading curl experts.
