At Aoki Hair, education never stops, and it isn't only about curls. In March, I had the pleasure of attending Casey Coleman's Australian Content Class & Mentorship, a masterclass designed specifically for hairdressers here in Australia.
If you haven't come across Casey yet, he's a globally acclaimed Goldwell Global Ambassador and award-winning hairdresser whose social media and content creation masterclasses are highly sought-after by stylists all over the world. Getting to learn from him in person, and grab a photo together, was a real highlight of my year so far.
What the day was all about
Casey's class focuses on tangible, everyday social media skills: how to make content creation less stressful, how to connect with the clients who genuinely need you, and how to share your work in a way that feels authentic rather than overwhelming. What I loved most was his honesty: Casey speaks openly about navigating the industry with anxiety, and his approach is all about ditching the pressure and letting your real work speak for itself.
What this means for you
So why does a curly hair salon in Mount Pleasant invest a day in a social media masterclass? Because the way I share my work matters. Better content means you can see exactly what I do, real curl transformations on real clients, before you ever sit in my chair. Expect to see more behind-the-scenes moments, more curl journeys, and more of the education I'm known for popping up on my socials.
And to my fellow Perth stylists: if Casey brings his content class back to Australia, run, don't walk.
Have you spotted me on Instagram lately? Come say hello, and if your curls are ready for some love, I'd love to see you in the salon.
