Jenni is blast of gorgeousness and nothing short of a miracle worker, and I don’t say that lightly! My daughter booked an appointment having googled ‘best curly hairdresser in Perth’ as she has just moved there and I was visiting from the UK I so went with her. She has thick curly hair and having taken her to salons for over 20 years, nobody has ever cut her hair like Jenni did. Jenni transformed very long hair in poor condition, frizzy and tangled with split ends, to shiny ringlets. I watched the entire process and there was nothing Jenni did that cannot be done at home so the ringlets are still there 2 weeks later! It was quite amazing 🤩 One really important tip she told us was not to use any oil on curly hair. Noted! Thanks Jenni. I know Bella will be back. 💅😎❤️
Very impressed with Jenni and her lovely team. They were so lovely and welcoming. The place is an awesome space and feels relaxed but lively with lots of laughter and chatter. Hair advice was so generous and the drinks and nibbles excellent.

Absolutely wonderful service! It was my first visit here, and it was very educational. I've had mens length hair for a long time before growing it out, so i had no clue about most terminology for a haircut, let alone any real idea how to handle unruly curly hair. I had seen the mixed reviews during my search for a curly hair salon, but I am a firm believer in trying a place out first, and the services described on their website were exactly what I needed. Jenni and the other lovely ladies at the salon were so approachable, took the time to explain and make recommendations- both for how to cut the hair (i was open to options as i had no set style in mind) and how to look after it. The knowledge I got about looking after my particular hair type was invaluable, lots of things i thought id learned on my own were not applicable to my hair- and were actually the cause of a lot of my frustrations! They were able to do what no other hairdressers have ever done, and give me a detailed breakdown of my hair texture, porosity, and explain the particulars about maintaining and styling at home, including recommendations for how to part my hair for my face shape + how to maximise volume from that parting. This is one of the only times I've ever genuinely smiled looking at my hair while it's long. If youre like me and are typically nervous to approach high end salon environments, you can throw those worries away with Aoki. The price is well worth it- if they can figure out and fix my hair, they can do anything!
I had waist length curly hair, and if you have curly hair and have worn it curly your whole life, you'll understand me when I say I am more scared of visiting the hairdresser than the dentist 😅 After stalking Aoki's instagram (for honestly about 4 years) I finally went in. Jenny's enthusiasm and excitement was contagious and put me at ease quite quickly. She listened to my concerns and what i wanted, and kept working with me until i was happy with it. I had very uneven length and volume due to post partum hair loss and regrowth - so im sure this wasnt an easy task 🙃 My hair now has a wonderful shape, and looks so much healthier. Im glad I've finally found a hairdresser in Perth i can trust with my curls.
Jess did a complete restyle on my daughter and uncovered curls and waves that had gone into hiding. The smiles and confidence that have come with her new look are a credit to Jess and Jenni! Honestly had an epic time and a solid haircut from Jenni, been growing this hair out for 2yrs and finally got a haircut. Jenni bringing over 4 decades of experience and also just coming back from a hair conference in New York showing her commitment to constant education and up skilling. Turning my "Christmas tree" haircut into something with alot more shape and intentionally. Also had the lovely Morgan wash, shampoo and educate me on how to best maintain, style and take care of my hair and answering my many questions. Honestly a truly exceptional service, weren't pushy on me buying styling products after and super understanding, definitely recommend especially anyone with curls that is looking for that special touch! p.s. they also cut non curly hair too
What an amazing 3 hours! The staff worked really hard from balayage, cut and dry my curly hair and the result is astonishing! I’ll recommend this place to anyone has curly hair because these ladies know exactly what to do! You just need to tell them and the job is done! Very grateful I found this place😍
So many curly do’s look old fashioned, mumsy. Not from Aoki. Modern, contemporary whatever you call it I say I hip and cool. I have learnt so much about the aftercare as well to maintain the look, I can get a great look from airdrying and then a tweak as well as the full works with the dryer. I get so many compliments and loving my recently new fringe.
Hi, I’m from India and have been living in Perth since 2016. My hair is very thick and curly, and to be honest, I never really liked it until I met Jenni. I used to straighten it, but after becoming a mum it was hard to maintain every day. So I decided to keep my hair curly, but I still wasn’t happy with how it looked. After trying many different haircut places, a friend at work told me about Aoki. I followed their Instagram for a year before finally deciding to try it out. Absolutely incredible! I’ve been to Jenni and her team multiple times and I always leave feel relaxed and confident. Her knowledge and skills are unmatched and I now feel so much more comfortable looking after my hair at home too! Before Jenni my hair was shapeless and sad, it didn’t suit me and I often left hairdressers feeling overwhelmed and dismayed. Now I love getting my haircut and I trust that Jenni will execute my vision with professionalism and attention to detail. Cannot recommend enough that anyone with curly hair comes here!
I'm currently visiting my daughter from interstate and thought I'd make an appointment to have a proper dry curly cut with Jenni. There was no availability initially, however, the lovely Aoki team put me on the cancellation list. I received a call today to confirm an appointment. I am extremely pleased with my experience at Aoki Hair and Jenni and her team (hair cut and colour) really looked after every curl on my head! I will be making another booking well in advance for when I'm in Perth next time. I left Aoki Hair Salon with a head of bouncy curls and my hair feels so healthy and the shape is just great so I can now grow my hair. Thank you so much Aoki team and looking forward to seeing you again sooooon.

I've had my hair cut, coloured, styled here every 3 months for close to 3 years now and my hair has never been better! My curls are stronger and maintenance is effortless. Not only are the team at Aoki professional, the vibe is fun, great music and snacks. Five 🌟 highly recommended to all with curly hair.

I decided to try my luck while visiting Perth & see if I could find a ‘curly cut’ expert to give my curls that little bit extra! I was so excited to have someone who was confident and knowledgeable dry cut my curls & Jenni delivered!! 🤌🏾✨ I wanted to add more shape & bangs which I am absolutely in love with. Jenny and her team are very welcoming and do their absolute best to make your whole experience enjoyable and replicate-able when you get home. It’s like finding your curly BFF - I was given all of the HOW to look after my curls and new bangs at home, even self trimming lessons. I can’t wait for my next Perth trip, I won’t be taking my curls anywhere else 💘

Such a treat for me to come to AOKI as I live up north in the Pilbara. Despite having regular haircuts (no specialists in the Pilbara) my hair had lost its shape and was looking a bit sad! Jenny and young Morgan waved their magic wand and my curls are looking amazing! I’m so happy with it, so much so that I’ll be booking my trips to Perth around my hair appointments. I’m not usually one to ever leave reviews of products/ services but I just have to say I was blown away by how knowledgeable and helpful Jenni and her team were. I have struggled to find quality education about my curls as well as a place that knows how to cut my hair type. Jenni and Jess were beyond lovely did an amazing job. I love my new hair! If you have curly hair I can’t recommend them enough!

I had an amazing experience at this curly hair salon! From the moment I walked in, I felt so well taken care of. The team was incredibly kind, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable about curly hair. They completely transformed my look — and I couldn’t be happier! They removed the keratin treatment I previously had, colored my hair beautifully, and styled it using a diffuser. I went from having undefined, frizzy roots and dry, straight ends to a head full of healthy, bouncy curls that have been getting so many compliments ever since! It was a drastic change, but in the best way possible. I finally feel like my curls are alive again. Highly recommend this place if you want to embrace your natural texture and leave feeling confident and radiant!
Not only is Jenni amazing at what she does but she is also uncommonly kind! I met her where I work and we got to talking about hair, she wrote down the name of her salon for me and I got in touch with her about an appointment. I had colour on my hair that I wasn’t happy with and I was also in need of a cut. Just from briefly chatting to her I could tell she knew what she was talking about! I hadn’t been able to book an appointment because of the hours I work but Jenni worked around me and sorted an appointment on a day where she was also on a time crunch. I have never seen my curls look this good! It was my first time getting my hair cut by a curly hair specialist and I was not disappointed. She was so attentive to detail and gave me lots of advice for how to maintain my curls. I truly can’t recommend her enough.

I discovered Aoki in December '24. What a treasure! Before meeting Jenni and her team, I could never have dreamed just how beautiful my curls really are. It's not just the magic of Jenni's superb curly cuts that take into consideration every client's unique curl type, but also her keen knowledge of face shape and of skin tone for colouring too. Jenni and her highly trained team are also very happy to educate you about curly care. I am so, so happy to have found Aoki. I am now loving my curls where as, before, I loathed my curly hair. Aoki is a curly hair paradise!
